Tahu Goreng Medan

  • Tahu goreng is one of my family favorite dish when all of we were bored with home daily menu. This is a simple vegetarian dish but when you have try it. You're can't stop eating. The aromatic of peanut sauce and sprinkle of fried shallot definitely makes you hungry...

     

    Ingrediets:

    - 3 White tofu 
    - 1 Tempe 
    - 100 gr bean sprouts
    - 1 Cucumber (julienne)
    - 1 Lettuce (sliced 2 cm)
    - Parsley (sliced)

    Sauce Ingrediets:

    - 100 gr Deep-fried peanuts 
    - 4 Clove of garlic (sliced and deep-fried)
    - 7 Shallot 
    (sliced and deep-fried)

    - 5 red chilli (deep-fried)
    - 4 cayenne pepper (deep-fried)
    - 1/2 tsp salt
    - 2 tbsp sweet soy sauce
    - 1 tsp lime juice
    - warm water 

    How To:

    1.  Blanch bean sprouts for 2 minutes 
    2. Heat the oil in a wok pan to deep rrying tofu and tempe until golden and crispy outside, cut tofu and tempe into cubes.
    3. Blend garlic, shallot, peanuts, red chilli, cayenne pepper and salt into food processor, blend until a smooth paste.
    4. Place peanut paste into a bowl , add lime juice, sweet soy sauce and warm water a necessary to make a thick sauce 
    5. Place vegetables, tofu and tempe into a plate the pour over the sauce and sprinkle with parsley and fried shallot
    6. Tahu goreng ready to serve for 3 portion


    You can add bakwan or vegetables fritter (optional)
     

    Ingredients:

    - 75 gr Carrot ( julienne)
    - 75 gr Cabbage (sliced)
    - 200 gr wheat flour
    - 1  Chicken egg
    - 1/4 tsp white pepper
    - 1/4 tsp coriander powder
    - 3/4 tsp salt
    - 1/4 tsp sugar
    - Cold water
