Ayam Suwir Sambal Matah

I originally ate this ayam suwir sambah matah in ayam penyet ria restaurant long..long time ago before masehi...😆 (just kidding) and it tasted really good. This is because they use yellow spices fried chicken that they shred and mix well with fresh sambal matah and make this dish more rich of flavor.

After that time, i often make ayam suwir sambal matah at home. It is pure of fresh, spicy and aromatic and make me want to eat more and more. This dish has become one of my favorite foods and today i want to share how to make ayam suwir sambal matah ala vina's cooking journey, so you can also make this dish in your kitchen.

This is the recipe:

400 gr yellow spices fried chicken (same recipe as ayam penyet)
10 bird eye chillies, sliced (you can adjust the spiciness)
4 shallot, sliced
2 kafir lime leaves, remove the center bone and sliced
1 lemongrass, find the inner tender flesh and sliced
1 tomato, remove the center or seed and sliced
1 sdm lime juice
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
4 tbsp vegetable oil

How to:


  1. Shred the chicken into small pieces and keep in mixing bowl
  2. In another bowl, add bird-eye chilli, shallot, kafir lime leave, lemongrass, tomato, salt, sugar and hot vegetable oil, stir and add lime juice stir again
  3. Add shredded chicken into sambal matah, stir and ready to serve
